We now know why Lois Lerner exercised her right not incriminate herself by pleading the fifth. On Monday and Tuesday June 23^rd-24^th, hearings were held investigating the abuse of power by the IRS. Despite the attempt by the Congressional Democrats to denigrate the hearing as a farce and to obstruct justice, the committee learned that just 10 days after finding out about a pending criminal investigation by Congress, Lois Lerner’s’ computer mysteriously crashed and then was later illegally destroyed (“recycled”).  The result was two and a third years of e-mails critical to the investigation and during the time that IRS agents were caught targeting conservative 501c3 groups were destroyed.

If you believe that Lerner’s crashed computer was just a coincidence, then understand that 6 other key IRS employees also had their computers suddenly crash losing their e-mails as well. An MIT trained statistician estimates that the odds of Lerner’s hard drive crashing just 10 days after learning of the pending investigation is 1,000 to one! The odds of all 7 hard drives crashing during that same time frame has been calculated to be 1 chance in 3.1 million! If you are a low-information Democrat or a leftist, university-trained journalist, you probably still think all of these events occurring simultaneously are quite possible. But even you must still wonder why the government destroyed the hard drives that contained evidence subpoenaed by Congress.

If like Obama, you still can not find a smidgen of corruption and no cover-up involving IRS administrators, then understand that yesterday there was also testimony that the IRS broke federal law by not reporting the loss of data –the emails- to the government archivist.

The following is testimony of U.S. archivist David Ferriero from Tuesday’s hearing concerning the IRS’s illegal activity;  

“The agency didn’t “follow” the law. The IRS should have notified the IRS as soon as it realized the records were gone”.

“Federal agencies are responsible for preventing the unauthorized disposition of federal records, including their unlawful or accidental destruction, deletion, alteration, or removal from federal custody.

When an agency becomes aware of an incident of unauthorized destruction, they must report the incident to us.”

I repeat, the IRS broke federal law. It is not even in dispute!

Only Republicans on the committee seemed to care about finding the facts as the Democrats spent all their time apologizing to the witnesses for the tough questions that the Republicans posed.

        

In 1972, President Nixon and his close aides ordered the harassment of political opponents, activist groups and political figures by abusing the power of the FBI, CIA, and the I.R.S. In 1972, a bipartisan committee led by the Democrats was formed to investigate allegations against Nixon.

In 1972, Republicans were just as concerned about the abuse of government power against the American people as the Democrats. The national media was liberal but still retained a perception of ethics and professional standards.

On a bipartisan base the corruption of the Nixon administration was eventually uncovered. In fact, the toughest and most famous phrase from the Watergate incident came when Republican, Howard Baker, demanded to know about the Republican President; "What did the President know, and when did he know it?”

        

         Committee Republicans Lowell Weicker from Connecticut along with Edward Gurney of Florida joined Howard Baker in grilling the witness to get to the truth. Republican John Dean stated that there was a “cancer on the Presidency” and whistleblower, Alexander Butterfield revealed the existence of the secret Nixon tapes. These men displayed honor, honesty and patriotism by putting the Constitutional rights of Americans above political party, personal power or money.

 

Fast forward to 2014, is there an honorable Democrat in Congress today?

 

Is there an unbiased and honest investigative journalist alive today or has that breed become extinct, forced from the profession by venomous leftists?

         Because in 1972, the media the Democrats and the Republicans all cared about stopping the abuse of power by the Nixon Administration. The Watergate scandal resulted in the indictment, trial, conviction, and incarceration of 43 people!

Who at the IRS will be held accountable?

            I’ve been a registered independent since Bush 43 spent and grew government like a drunken Democrat. But in 1972, I was a registered Democrat. If the Republicans had been as partisan and dishonest in the Watergate hearings as the Democrats were yesterday at the IRS hearings, I believe that people would have left the Republican Party in droves.

 Democrats no longer have a smidgen of credibility! In 2014, how can any citizen be proud to be identified as a Democrat? Since at least 2010, only the Republicans and Independents have had any interest in protecting the average American from government abuse! An honest and unbiased national media no longer exists. The liberal “media-academia-political complex” controls our culture and herds the low information, pop-culture Democrats like well-trained lemmings.

Today’s media only barely cover any of the Obama scandals. They are more likely to recite White House talking points to defend the Democrat Party than to conduct investigative journalism. Journalists that have been persecuted by the government –James Rosen, Cheryl Atkinson et.al- are pariahs to the mainstream media, not heroes.

Wikipedia described the rabid network coverage of Watergate in 1972;

Today, one only finds news coverage critical of Obama on radio and cable TV.

THE V.A. SCANDAL IS A GLIMPSE INTO SINGLE PAYOR HEATH CARE!

Waiting lists and death panel administrators await all Americans.

Let us celebrate Memorial Day by remembering our fallen soldiers, both those killed in the line of duty and those left to rot without medical care by corrupt administrators at the Veterans Administration. The V.A. medical system is government run healthcare. The Democrats and others on the left claim that the flaws with Obamacare could be fixed by going to a single payer V.A. style government run health care system. Liberals have never shown the ability to learn from history and will not learn from the current tragedies inflicted on our veterans by the V.A. Health Care System.

CNN) – “At least 40 U.S. veterans died waiting for appointments at the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Health Care system, many of whom were placed on a secret waiting list.

The secret list was part of an elaborate scheme designed by Veterans Affairs managers in Phoenix who were trying to hide that 1,400 to 1,600 sick veterans were forced to wait months to see a doctor, according to a recently retired top VA doctor and several high-level sources.”

Under socialism and communism, little incentive is given to workers to excel, such is the case at the V.A. Hospitals. Doctors at the V.A. receive a salary and are paid the same whether they treat 1 patient or 100 patients per day. The V.A. naively attempted to provide an incentive by rewarding facilities that provided timely care. The result of the bonus system was corrupt government employees falsifying records to make failed performance appear to be acceptable.

Many government workers belong to a union, the American Federation of Government Employees (A.F.G.E.). The union is part of the reason government employees never seem to be punished or fired. (Recall Lois Lerner of the corrupt IRS) Numerous cases of incompetent, corrupt and unethical government employees’ receiving bonuses and promotions have been documented. At the Arizona V.A. where as many as 40 veterans may have died waiting for care, $337,885 in bonuses were paid out in 2013 despite the fact that they were “cooking the books” and devising the elaborate scheme and secret list that was described by the CNN investigators.

As was the case with “Fast and Furious”, “The Benghazi Scandal” and the IRS targeting of private citizens opposed to the Obama Administration, Obama claims to have first become aware of the V.A. problems by reading the newspaper.

Can anyone with a functioning brain cell believe Obama’s claim of ignorance? With the NSA spying on all Americans and with documented reports that refute and expose Obama’s lies how can the Obama Administration retain even an ounce of credibility. The lies just keep coming from this administration, the Democrats and the mainstream media.

We know that Obama was aware of the vast extent of the V.A. problems in 2008 when he was informed during his transition briefings! On April 9^th, 2009 in response to the V.A. problems, President Obama gave a speech stating, “…all those who wear the nations uniform, know this when you come home to America, America will be there for you.” Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Eric Shinseki was standing beside Obama when the president made that promise. Now, 5 years later and with a string of dead veterans in his wake, Shinseki remains on the job with the full support of our incompetent president.

Despite a 35.2% increase in funds since 2009, the V.A. has failed to live up to the president’s promise. How is this tax money being spent?  

We can only hope that as our veterans die the V.A. is not conducting business like the Government Services Administration. Remember Jeffrey Neely, another corrupt government worker who headed the G.S.A., invoking his Fifth Amendment (like Lois Lerner), after being caught squandering hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars.

Nine months ago, a $9.3 billion program was instituted by the V.A. to refer vets’ needing specialists to civilian medical centers. The government employees union, the A.F.G.E., is fighting the program. As usual, the union is putting their desire to hire more unproductive government workers in order to collect more union dues above the healthcare needs of wounded and sick veterans.

While American veterans are left to die by our own government V.A. Health care system, at Guantanamo Bay 150-captured jihadists have approximately 100 doctors, nurses and health care personnel on call 24/7 to treat the slightest medical malady. That means that the terrorists have a patient to health care provider ratio of 1.5 to one! Our veterans who provide the firewall between us and those jihadists, who would kill us, have a ratio of 34 to one! Each group of 34 veterans has only one health care worker (not necessarily a doctor) to provide them with care! Only in an America controlled by the Democrats and the radical left along with a complicit media could this insane situation exist.

The Democrats were sure that every American would soon rejoice and embrace the new healthcare law. In celebration, Nancy Pelosi marched side by side with other Congressional Democrats who were also suffering from “utopian derangement syndrome” (does the ACA cover that malady?).

 Together these delusional Democrats climbed the steps, marching euphorically through the Capital; Pelosi was literally hugging a huge, and cartoonish, MASSIVE, speaker’s gavel! The smiles on Democrats faces reassured low information viewers of MSNBC, CBS, NBC and ABC that Democrats always know what is best for the citizens even if the majority of Americans are to stupid to agree with them. Democrat propagandists that control the media were gushing with praise for the Democrats as tingling thighs quivered on every major network.

The ACA, that would later become known as Obamacare, passed in the Senate by a vote of 60–39 on December 24, 2009. EVERY Democrat, joined by two independents, voted for passage!

NO Republicans voted for the monstrosity that is now known as Obamacare!

Because Obamacare was a purely partisan bill I suggest it forever be dubbed “DEMOCARE”! This name is appropriate for four reasons:

1# The ACA will eventually demolish (Demo) one of the most advanced and high tech healthcare systems on the planet.

2# Democrats are the only major party that supported the flawed legislation and then Democrats totally botched its implementation.

3#  We must never forget that the Democrats are the only ones responsible for “Democare” even after Obama is a distant memory as the worst president in history!
